Days 009 | Model: Leslie

Ok, so it just so happens that my girlfriend and pretty much all of her friends happen to be model type, and I'm so thankful for it! It allows me to work with models on quick notice, and shoot with people I feel comfortable with/like. Each personality type is captured within each photo set I've taken.. at least that's been my perspective from each one.

Yesterday, I shot my beautiful friend Leslie. She a natural model! Beautiful complexion, tall in stature, and a keen understanding of good posture. It's often a challenge for me to have a model communicate their body language as natural as possible (Something I work on each shoot), but with Leslie's confidence and willingness to try, everything ran smoothly.

The location for this shoot fit very well for the aesthetic I was aiming for. There was a perfect balance between aged, linear architecture & organic life. This was beneficial due to the fact that we only had so much time to shoot in the "magic hour", which for those of you who don't know, it's the hour before sunset where shadows start to even out & skin tones tend to warm up. When shooting outdoors, it's my preferred time to shoot. I love the comparison between the architecture & Leslie's long legs. It just seems to make sense to me visually.

Steph (my girlfriend), and my nephew Collin (Yes, I know, we have the same name lol. Actually the same first, middle and last name, but that'll have to be a story for a different day.) came along on this shoot as well. Steph did an amazing job on makeup! I love having her around to bounce ideas around. She's amazing at posing people as well, which is great for me sometimes because I get to focus on composition, and I just enjoy collaborating with my creative girl :)

The shoot was a success!

I'll release the second set of photos (more from this location) soon, in a separate post. It'll be a surprisingly different look from this first set, which is why I want to separate them.

Also, look to see Leslie in more of my upcoming creative shoots coming soon! Still in the process of piecing all of those together!
