John C. Edmonds

John Edmonds lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. His work captures the concept of identity, exclusively in the lives of black male subjects. One of my favorite sets of photographs Edmonds has produces is embedded in a series titled 'Chameleon'. Through creative direction, Edmonds masks the faces of black men, forcing the views to question the identity of the subject. His work also speaks on the act of black masculinity as being a act of performance for means of survival.
